Roode Bioscoop Sessies 6.0 | Fee Aaij Qwartet - I am The Joker

In April 2024 the young dutch pianist Fee Aaij and her Qwartet will make their debut with 'I am The Joker', a conceptual album of improvised music. The album celebrates a sound in which modal jazz and art rock are combined. However, The Joker thinks this description lacks depth.

So, imagine:
Radiohead, J.S. Bach, Thelonious Monk, McCoy Tyner, Brad Mehldau and, of course, David Bowie running into each other in the middle of the night. While being lost in a big medieval castle, they sit around a long table where they start telling each other folk stories. Yet something feels off. The tales mysteriously seem to conclude the same thing;
A figure, a presence, they all know, although never have met.
Watching them from afar The Joker laughs silently. It’s time…
