CASCO SERIES | Lend your body to the muses by IRENE SOROZÁBAL / LILY KIARA

Singer, composer and improviser Irene Sorozábal gets together with some of her favourite improvisers to explore the mysterious world of the muses.
These muses are not well behaved and demure, like the muses of Ancient Greece. They are mesmerising and alluring creatures, in their darkness and eeriness. Being inspired by one of them feels like being possessed by a mischievous spirit.

The first set will be by the Amsterdam-based singer-songwriter Lily Kiara. She plays poetic songs that sometimes become stories, sometimes are closer to a poem, concerning human rights and personal wonderings. ‘Tragedies and mysteries, realities and remedies’. Occasionally there’s a love song in the traditional sense. But she sees them all as love songs really, wondering about how we live together in this world. Lily Kiara plays mostly fingerpicking acoustic guitar, under the musical influence of mainly North American and British traditional and contemporary folk songwriters such as Ani DiFranco, Laura Marling, Joni Mitchell, Rickie Lee Jones, Anais Mitchell, The Tallest Man on Earth.
