Tzara the Machine | Hope | EP Release support: Escarteen Sisters

Tzara The Machine is the solo project of Amsterdam-based Venezuelan singer-songwriter and producer Francisco Garrido. Francisco has been supported by the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation for 7 years. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Björk, Animal Collective and Bon Iver, Tzara creates a fresh organic sound mixing sampled acoustic instruments and electronic elements. Their music deals with themes of mental health, the struggle of understanding our own patterns and dealing with the hidden nature of our thoughts. Vulnerable lyricism and sonic experimentation make Tzara The Machine a captivating and unique musical act.
Accompanied by Carolina Gemmell(guitar and vocals), Matteo Mazzù(Bass and effects) and Chen Har Even(drums and pads) the live iteration of this music is one of many nuances, from loud and messy guitars to meditative ambient soundscapes. In this formation electronics, sound experimentation and a truly immersive experience are to be expected as a listener."

Escarteen Sisters

Escarteen Sisters is a string quartet in a duo; two sisters, a viola, and a cello based in Amsterdam and Rotterdam. They sing and play at the same time, using the instrument to accompany the voice and vice versa, bowed and plucked. Their work is characterized by the intimate and raw interaction between two sisters who have been making music together since childhood. The multiculturalism in the family is the spine of the sister’s artistic work: daughters of a Spanish filmmaker and an Flemish audiovisual artist. Laia was born in Mexico and Flavia in Belgium.

In this concert they will play a mix of repertoire of their second album ‘Caure Sostingut’ (Released on February 2024) and of their new upcoming album ‘Pedra & Ploma’ (Will be released on February 2026).
