CASCO 2: Vera Morais & Hristo Goleminov / Dat&Dun

Vera Morais and Hristo Goleminov are two young Portuguese improvisers living in Amsterdam. They have released their first duo album of voice and saxophone in September 2022 and are preparing a second one, this time including Hristo's new instrument, the no-input mixer. Having developed a very acoustic approach to improvisation, they are now exploring how to transpose that practice to a setting that also includes a (quite unpredictable) electronic instrument. This concert will be the first live presentation of that research.

They have invited a like-minded duo to share the evening with: Dat&Dun is the collective name of pianist Nora Mulder and guitarist Jasper Stadhouders, two established musicians from the Amsterdam improvised music scene. Their artistry transcends their instruments, for they usually expand on them with objects, other smaller instruments or electronic solutions. They will play one of their unpredictable and energetic sets, focusing on timbre exploration.
