Tongue and Chance Guild
Tongue and Chance Guild, a new venture by Anne La Berge and River Adomeit, convenes a fellowship of improvisers devoted to the arts of text, tale-telling, song, and poetry. Like a guild hall open to wandering makers, the project gathers artists from different traditions to exchange skills, test fortunes, and create in the moment. Through free improvisation across disciplines, each gathering becomes a meeting of voices, practices, and unexpected encounters.
For this inaugural assembly, we welcome performers who cross different scenes. Oene van Geel on viola moves between jazz, Carnatic, and chamber music traditions, while Diamanda La Berge Dramm brings a brings in songs, stories and her virtuoso violin playing.
Joined by more guest performers yet to be announced, we will gather at Roode Bioscoop for an evening of chance encounters, shared inventions, and collective making. In the spirit of a medieval guild, each participant arrives with their own craft, contributing to a living tapestry woven anew before the audience.
