NOHMI is a Rotterdam based jazz ensemble lead by pianist Miran Noh. They distinguish themselves with spherical compositions full of harmonic influences from impressionistic classical music mixed with the freedom and fluidity of jazz improvisation. Their concerts are characterized by the many contrasts and high level of expression, taking the audience with them in their unique world of sound. With their first album ‘A Bird at the Edge’ they performed internationally in many prestigious festivals such as ‘North Sea Jazz Festival’, ‘Cairo Jazz Festival’ and ‘Avignon Jazz Festival’. In January NOHNMI will release their second album ‘Darkness & Brightness’.

NOHMI is een in Rotterdam gevestigd jazzensemble onder leiding van Miran Noh. NOHMI kenmerkt zich door de sferische composities waarin harmonische invloeden uit de impressionistisch klassieke muziek worden vermengd met de vrijheid van jazzimprovisatie. De concerten kenmerken zich door de vele muzikale contrasten en hoge mate van expressie waardoor het publiek wordt meegenomen in de unieke klankwereld van dit kwintet. Met hun eerste album ‘A Bird at the Edge’ heeft NOHMI op vele prestigieuze podia en festivals gespeeld in binnen- en buitenland, waaronder North Sea Jazz, Cairo Jazz festival en Avignon Jazz Festival. Op dit moment is het ensemble hard aan het werk aan hun tweede album ‘Darkness and Brightness’.
